The Poseidon class supercarrier is a supercarrier created for the Babylon 5 Wars game based on the of Babylon 5 universe. The Poseidon is the primary carrier ship in the military branch of the Earth Alliance called EarthForce.

During the Earth-Minbari War, EarthForce realized that it required a way to provide massive fighter superiority to a battle area quickly. Rocketdyne won this contract preceding their contract for the Omega class destroyer and began construction of the prototypes at their Neptune facility. Unfortunately, the Minbari destroyed the two prototype supercarriers when they were only 30% completed. After the war, the Poseidons were produced widely and are still in service at the time of the Warlock class destroyer. Many of the design principles used by Rocketdyne are shared between the Poseidon, the Omega and the Nova class dreadnought.

The Poseidon has four primary sections. The hammer section houses the primary offensive weapons (2 heavy particle beams), main sensor suite, primary docking bay (slips for shuttles/cargo ships and transit to the fighter decks) and a zero-G command section for fighter control. The main body section holds the fighter bays (8 segments holding 3 full squadrons of fighters each) as well as facilities for maintaining the fighters (refueling stations, repair bays, munitions storage and 2 of the seven fusion reactors). The centrifuge section is similar to that found on the Omega, but has four arms rather than two. This provides extra space for the extra personnel required for the fighters. The centrifuge also contains the counter-rotating main bridge section of the Poseidon. The most aft section of the Poseidon is the engine drive. This section holds 4 Hypertech H-145 heavy ion thrust engines (different from those on the Omega due the much higher mass of the Poseidon), the remaining 5 fusion reactors and 4 aft heavy particle beams to defend the Poseidon in retreat.
