Poseidon (horse)

Poseidon is an Australian thoroughbred racehorse, remembered for his big year in 1906. He was foaled in 1903 by Positano out of Jacinth, and was sold for 500gns. In 1906, he won 11 out of 14 races, including a clean sweep of many of the big classics, plus the Melbourne Cup and Caulfield Cup. He won the Caulfield Cup a second time in 1907. These great feats made him a worthy inductee into the Australian Racing Hall of Fame.
