Poschiavo is the main municipality in the Valposchiavo, a valley in southern Switzerland. It belongs to the canton of Graubünden, and is one of only 4 valleys in the canton Graubünden where the official language is Italian. The other valleys are Bregaglia, Mesolcina and Calanca. The local dialect in the valley is "Pus'ciavin", which is an Italian dialect.
Poschiavo has its own lake, called Lago di Poschiavo (lake of Poschiavo), which is located to the south of the village.
[edit] Transportation
The only connection to Switzerland is the Bernina Pass. It is connected by a road and the "Rhätische Bahn " RhB, on its track from Tirano in Italy to St. Moritz.
