[edit] Merge Portus in?

Seems reasonable to me Fastifex 12:49, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

  • But in terms of modern toponyms for the area of the imperial harbour, people will surely think first of not of Porto but Fiumicino, the airport that now dominates the area. If one were looking for information on the ancient harbour of Rome, "Portus" is the search term one would instinctively use, not "Porto", I would suggest. I support keeping a separate article on Portus. [anonymously posted by 62.25.106.209 18:22, 26 September 2006]
    • In any case, Portus would best be turned into a disambig page, being a common Latin word for port (derived from it) or habor, part of various other place names, and if memory serves me right a minor Roman divinity - and probably has more uses. Fastifex 06:10, 27 September 2006 (UTC)
  • Speedy merge. Itsmejudith 12:21, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
