PorygonZ (ポリゴンZ PorigonZ?, PolygonZ) are one of the 493 fictional species of Pokémon creatures from the multi-billion-dollar[1] Pokémon media franchise—a collection of video games, anime, manga, books, trading cards, and other media created by Satoshi Tajiri. The purpose of PorygonZ in the games, anime, and manga, as with all other Pokémon, is to battle both wild Pokémon—untamed creatures that characters encounter while embarking on various adventures— and tamed Pokémon creatures owned by Pokémon trainers.[2]

[edit] Biological Characteristics
PorygonZ's appearance is similar to that of Porygon and Porygon2, which were supposedly earlier designs by Silph Corporation. Silph Corporation apparently added programming to Porygon2 in order for it to surpass all other Pokémon - causing it to evolve into PorygonZ. However, as a result, PorygonZ began to exhibit strange behaviors.
This Pokémon also has a more agile appearance; it is slimmer, and its "legs" from Porygon2 evolved into "wings". Its tail is below the body, as opposed to in the back, as with the forms before it. Its neck seems to have disappeared as well (compare with Dynamite Headdy or Rayman). Its eyes are also decidedly different from its previous two forms. It appears to have an antenna too. It has a shape that resembles either a satellite or a hummingbird.
[edit] In the video games
It has been confirmed that wild Porygon are available in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. By trading one with the Up-Grade item, it becomes Porygon2; trading Porygon2 with the Eerie Patch results in PorygonZ. This makes it the first Pokémon to evolve twice by trade. It also has the highest Special Attack stat of the Normal type and of any non-legendary (equal to that of Alakazam), improved from that of its pre-evolution. Its Speed is also improved significantly. Although its defenses have been decreased, it can outrun nearly anything that poses a threat to it, most notably several Fighting Pokémon. Its abilities are Download and Adaptive: the former raises either PorygonZ's Attack or Special Attack, depending on the foe's defensive stats; and the latter boosts all same-type attacks (a second "STAB", if you will). Also, Hyper Beam and Tri Attack are now special attacks, which could make it a deadly special sweeper in the D/P metagame.
[edit] In the anime
It is expected that PorygonZ will not appear in the anime, following the tradition of Porygon (excluding Electric Soldier Porygon) and Porygon2.
