Portstewart Primary School
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Portstewart Primary School is situated in the town of Portstewart, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. It caters for children from the ages of 4 to 11 years. The school is located in Central Avenue close to the town centre and neighbouring St. Colum's Primary School.
[edit] Dissolving Boundaries
The school takes part in the Dissolving Boundaries Project. They are teamed up with Our Lady of the Wayside National School in Kilternan, Dublin. Over the year they learn to contact the other school by video phone and by using Moodle, an open source e-learning platform. They also create together a book of poems on the title 'discrimination' and 'breaking boundaries. It is a very worthwhile project and the children leave the classroom at the end of year with more knowledge of how to use modern technology and with their English skills improved.
