[edit] Station Usage
As of the end of 2004-2005, Portlethen had attracted just under 11000 (combined entry/exit) passengers including 3746 (combined entry/exit) season ticket journeys.
The station really only serves as a commuter station as the bulk of the few trains stopping at Portlethen serve Aberdeen commuters although there is the odd train here and there that stops outwith rush hour.
