Porthill Bridge
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Porthill Bridge is a pedestrian bridge crossing the River Severn in Shrewsbury.
It connects Porthill with The Quarry and the town centre. Next to it on the Porthill side is the Boat House public house. The Quarry park is on the town centre side, while Becks Field is on the Porthill side - both are large areas of greenery. The bridge moves up and down quite frequently even under light traffic.
A ferry operated here until the bridge was built in 1922.
