Porthcothan

Porthcothan is a coastal village in Cornwall, United Kingdom, situated between Newquay and Padstow, and lying within the parish of St Eval. The beach is popular with tourists and surfers and is protected by lifeguards during the day in the summer.
Roughly half-way between Porthcothan and St. Merryn, Trevoyan is reputed to be the second-oldest inhabited farmhouse in Cornwall.
Notable former residents include the early science fiction author J. D. Beresford, author D. H. Lawrence and the playwright Nick Darke.
