Port Rowan, Ontario

Port Rowan is a town in Norfolk County, Ontario on Lake Erie, adjacent to Long Point. This quaint little lakeside community has a population of just under 1,000 and sports a number of small stores and a growing retirement population. Shops include an IGA grocery store, a two convenience stores, a renovated library, medical center with dental and optometry, two hardware stores, a pharmacy, several restaurants, several smaller businesses including dollar store, gift shop, computer store, bookstore, etc., and features both an LCBO and Beer Store. Every Labor Day weekend, the town throws its annual Bayfest formerly known as the Tomato Fest.

Local sports include angling and boating in the Long Point Inner Bay and golfing at Stark's Golf Course at the edge of town. Bird Studies Canada is now based out of Port Rowan. Port Rowan's future growth is currently at capacity with its water treatment system, which threatens future growth in the town and its burgeoning retirement community.
