Port Morris, Bronx

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Port Morris is a section in the South Bronx. It is known as the "Gateway of the Bronx" due to it being the southernmost portion of the borough. It is surrounded by Mott Haven to the north, the Bronx Kill to the south, the East River to the east, and the Harlem River to the west.

The area is dominated by factories and warehouses. Recently, gentrification has greatly improved the status of Port Morris. The nearest subway is the 6 train, located along 138th Street in Mott Haven. No one who lives here calls it "So Bro" but a select few keep tring to make the name stick. If you ask someone who lives here where they live, they will probally say, "the bronx right on the other side of bruckner" There are many dogs of all sizes, not just tiny manhattan posh pups. The neighborhood is friendly, and not nearly as hardcore as people think. The public schools are very lacking, more funding and infrastructure are needed. But the middle schoolers can chicken noodle like nobodies business.
