Poro, Cebu

Poro is a 5th class municipality in the province of Cebu, Philippines. According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 21,397 people in 4,430 households.
Poro, along with Tudela, is located in the Camotes Islands on the island of Poro.
The town's name is derived from the Waray word "puro", meaning island.
The feast day of Poro is celebrated annually on the 3rd Friday of January.
