Porfiry Ivanov
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Porfiry Ivanov (1898 — 1983) was a Russian mystic whose beliefs have attained a cultural status. He was a self-proclaimed doctor although he had no formal certification. The Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) has considered his teachings to be heretical. The ROC calls the cult "Ivanovits".
Porfiri Ivanov's sect has its own hymn written by Ivanov himself. The rhythm of the hymn were assumed from the French national anthem "Marseillaise."[2] Ivanov promoted "Detka", a health system that included dousing.
