Por Amor (1982) is Menudo's 9th Spanish album featuring Ricky Melendez, Johnny Lozada, Xavier Serbia, Miguel Cancel, and new member Charlie Rivera. Charlie replaced Rene Farrait as Rene reached the age limit. Many saw the departure of Rene as the beginning of the end of the group due to Rene was a very popular member among the fans. Ricky Melendez thought the same and was considering quiting the group, but their popularity just kept growing and Ricky stayed put.
