Poplar is a station on the Docklands Light Railway in Travelcard Zone 2. It is a served by four of the five routes of the DLR and as such the busiest station on the network, in terms of services.

It was opened on 21 August 1987.

Long before then, there had been two stations with the same name, however neither was near the site of the current station:

[edit] Destinations

It serves a junction in four directions:

To the west the next station is Westferry, to the south is West India Quay, on the Stratford branch it is All Saints and to Beckton and Woolwich (via King George V station) Blackwall.

[edit] Depot

The central depot for the DLR next to Poplar station. It is accessed through a pair of tracks just east of Poplar. This features the tightest curves in operation on the railway.
