Pooja Batra

Pooja Batra (Hindi: पूज बत्रा, Urdu: پُوج بترا) ,born on October 27, 1973 in Faizabad, Uttar Pradesh, is an Indian actress. She shot to fame in the early 90's when she was crowned Miss India in 1993. Her mother, Neelam Batra, was a participant in Miss India 1971. Her father was an army colonel. Pooja Batra is married to an orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Sonu Ahluwalia, and resides in Los Angeles, California.[1]

Before she was born, Pooja's father was wounded in the 1971 war between India and Pakistan. She was more the athlete growing up. Pooja majored in Economics at the Fergusson College.[2]

Pooja turned down many offers before signing a contract with the Virasat Film Studio. She was the first Indian face to market a dandruff shampoo.
