Map of Western Pomerania (Duchy of Pomerania) from the 17th century. Author: Eilhardus Lubinus. It shows the territory which betwen 962 and 992 and between 1116 and 1181 was member of Poland and between 1181 and 1806 was a member of the Holy Roman Empire. From 1815 to 1867 it was as a Prussian province part of the German Confederation, from 1867 to 1871 of the North German Confederation. From 1871 to 1945 it was a Prussian province in the German Empire. After 1945 it is Polish on East of Oder and German on West of Oder. Only this territory is called "Pommerania" in Germany.
