Template talk:Politics of Palestine

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This page should not refer to "politics of the Palestinian National Authority", since it is the template for several movements who are not part of, do not recognize, or are even actively hostile to the Authority (such as Hamas and the PFLP). If it is considered controversial to use "Politics of Palestine" (in the nation-sense, not the independent state-sense), then may I suggest "Palestinian Politics" as a compromise? [edit] "State of Palestine"

I do not understand why this template includes "State of Palestine." This is a reference to a 1988 declaration that did not actually create a State of Palestine, which does not exist. That "State" has no relationship with the Palestinian National Authority, which is what this template is about. Of course, the PNA would like its efforts to result in "A" State of Palestine, but the empty declaration of 1988 is not that "State." See Talk:State of Palestine. 6SJ7 20:53, 29 May 2006 (UTC) (Edited my own comment. 6SJ7 20:54, 29 May 2006 (UTC))
