Polythene was the first full-length album by the British Rock/Pop band Feeder, published through the Echo Label. It was released on 19 May 1997, and subsequently re-released on October 28, 1997 in an Enhanced CD version featuring breakthrough single "High" and its video. The original version of the album was deleted soon after and is relatively rare.

It was Metal Hammer magazine's #1 album of 1997, notably beating The Verve's million selling "Urban Hymns"[1] and garnering a rare 10/10 review. It was also Kerrang Magazine's #6 album of 1997, [2] and in 2005 the album was voted at #87 in their "Top 100 British Rock Albums of All Time" list.

Commercially, the album was moderately successful, eventually gaining silver BPI certification in 2001, largely attributed to the exposure generated by breakthrough album Echo Park.[3]
