Pollara
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Pollara is a Canadian public opinion and research company. Founded as Insight Canada Research in the early 1980s by current owner and chairman, Michael Marzolini, the company name was changed in 1997 to Pollara.
Pollara was the pollster to the Liberal Party of Canada in its majority government winning election campaigns in 1993, 1997 and 2000. In 2004, incoming leader Paul Martin replaced Pollara with his personal pollster, David Herle and his Veraxis Research. Veraxis has since become the Gandalf Group. Under Herle's guidance, the Liberals fell from 170 seats and a majority to losing power to Stephen Harper's Conservative Party in less than two years.
Martin has since stepped down as Leader of the Liberal Party of Canada.
