Police Staff College, Bramshill

The Police Staff College, Bramshill, Bramshill House, Hartley Wintney, Basingstoke, Hampshire, England, is the principal police staff training establishment in the United Kingdom.
It was established in 1948 as the National Police College, and was renamed in 1979. From 1948 to 1960 it was located at Ryton-on-Dunsmore, Warwickshire, and moved to Bramshill in 1960.
The Staff College is headed by a Board of Governors, half appointed by the Home Secretary and half by local authorities. The academic and administrative head of the College is the Commandant. There are also a Deputy Commandant, who is of the rank of Assistant Chief Constable or Commander, and an Assistant Commandant.
Junior, Intermediate and Senior Command Courses are run, for Inspectors/Chief Inspectors, Superintendents, and Chief Superintendents/Superintendents respectively. There is also the Special Course for sergeants.
Bramshill is part of Centrex, the Central Police Training and Development Authority, established under Part 4 of the Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001
Bramshill has ceased to call itself the Police Staff College, and is the foremost of the seven Centrex sites in the country. It is also where the Chief Executive of Centrex for the whole country is based.
