Policarpo Bonilla

Policarpo Bonilla was president of Honduras between February 22, 1894 until February 1, 1899. He was born March 17, 1858 in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. He was a lawyer who held posts in the government of Marco Aurelio Soto. He became a Deputy in the National Congress, and was also Governor of Tegucigalpa. He was described as "the hero who, by transforming Honduras, gave it a new conscience". He died in 1928.
