Pole to Pole

Pole to Pole is both a book and a documentary, released in 1992, narrated by Michael Palin. It records a year long trip from the North Pole to the South Pole disdaining aircraft travel when he can. Palin's journey was also filmed and broadcast on television on the BBC. Michael travels through what was then the Soviet Union, parts of Europe, and through the heart of Africa. A diversion to Chile includes South America in the series.

The series is now available on DVD in the United Kingdom , and is often repeated on UKTV Documentary, along with Palin's other series.
