Pole Mokotowskie
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Pole Mokotowskie (often the plural form Pola Mokotowskie is used, but the proper form is singular one) is a big park in Warsaw. Part of it is named Józef Piłsudski's Park
Located in between the areas of Mokotów and the city centre, the park is currently one of the biggest in Warsaw. Until World War II major part of the park was occupied by an airfield and Warsaw University of Technology aircraft works. Pole Mokotowskie was also the seat of Warsaw Airport (until 1934) and Warsaw Horse Racing Track (until 1939).
Currently the place is famous for its bars and pubs as well as for Polish National Library located there. There is also a Warsaw Metro station, named Pole Mokotowskie, located just south of the park.
