[edit] Prior appearance(s)
I've noticed the edit war over this device. I've heard the radio play, seen the BBC television series and read the books. I know that this device appears in one of them, but only the Guide entry of it. Someone needs to look up chapter and verse of this occurance and put it in the article so that this silly edit war ends. Val42 03:00, 21 October 2005 (UTC)
I've read the books and listened to the radio series, and it's not in eiter of them, so it must be in the television series. --Dani 16:53, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
- Wrong! Wrong, wrong, wrong! Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong! Wrong. Wrong. Wrong.
- The POV gun is most definitely mentioned (though not actively used) in one of the HHG books.
- Unfortunately, I don't own any of the books (except Salmon of Doubt); I borrowed them from the
- library. It (the POVG) may have been mentioned in the TV series, too; I don't remember. [Berney]

- Vague recollections do not an encyclopedia make. Exec producer of the movie and longtime friend of Douglas Adams is on record (see article footnotes) that the device is new and unique to this version of the story - in fact, that's the very reason it's notable and warrants its own entry. Until someone can reference the specific book, radio show, TV series, towel, game or comic in which the POV gun supposedly appears, could we all agree that Mr. Stamp knows what he's talking about? [edit] Future sequels
These last two points may provide clues for the direction of any possible sequels.
I don't think that's the best sentence to end the entry on. It's unlikely that there are going to be sequels, because the scripts aren't going to be written by Douglas Adams, and the whole h2g2 would erupt with hatred towards whomever decided to take on the job themselves.
