From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In surfing, a point break is where a wave breaks as it hits a point of land jutting out from the coastline. Waves break based on varying coastal conditions; the other important types (for surfers) being a reef break and a beach break (both of which could be incorporated into a point break).

Point Break is also a film starring Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves and the name of a short-lived British boyband.
