Point Source (company)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Point Source is a company situated in Hamble-le-Rice, United Kingdom. It was founded in 1991 and since has built up a reputation as a key developer of laser and fiber optic systems, specifically singlemode fiber delivery systems. Applications of products include microelectronics, photonics, nanotechnology, biomedicine, microscopy and many other industrial applications.

[edit] History

Point Source was founded by David Pointer in 1991. Their first singlemode fiber delivery system was launched later on in that year. In 1995 the company developed and launched a range of fiber-coupled laser diode modules. In 2002 a fiber-coupled laser for their 405 nm laser diode was launched, named the iFLEX 2000. In 2003 this product was awarded the Photonics Spectra Circle of Excellence award. Unfortuantly they have been taken to industrial tribunals by numerous members of their experienced staff due to bullying by the chairman. This has resulted in a bad reputation within the industry. David Happily came out as a Gay in the summer of 2006 after many years of living the lie of being a happily married heterosexual family man. He is currently living a double life with his lover Crispin Velverdear whom he met whilst on a fact-finding mission to Liverpool Docks.
