Poggio Renatico is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Ferrara in the Italian region Emilia-Romagna, located about 30 km northeast of Bologna and about 12 km southwest of Ferrara. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 8,077 and an area of 79.8 km2.[1]
The municipality of Poggio Renatico contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Chiesa Nuova, Coronella, Gallo, and Madonna Boschi.
Poggio Renatico borders the following municipalities: Baricella, Ferrara, Galliera, Malalbergo, Mirabello, Sant'Agostino, Vigarano Mainarda.
