Poşta Română (Romanian Post) is the state-owned postal service of Romania. The company is responsible for the delivery of mail in Romania, as well as the issuing of postage stamps. It also provides a range of other services, including logistics, currency exchange, software development and consultancy services. Poşta Română is a founding member of the Universal Postal Union. In 2004, Poşta Română was the host and organiser of the UPU's 23rd Universal Postal Congress, which was held in Bucharest.

As of 2005, the CEO of Poşta Română is Gabriel Mateescu.

On July 15, 2005, the Romanian government announced that it plans to restructure and then privatise Poşta Română by 2008.[2]
