Pneumatic Detach is an American power noise act created by musician, Justin Brink. Pneumatic Detach is a mix of thick, harsh rhythms with electro-industrial sensibilites.
Brink started creating music in 1993 as the vocalist for common enemy, a hardcore band influenced by bands like Pantera and Sepultura. Later, not able to find other artists to work with and constantly relocating--from Pennsylvania to New York, New Orleans, and finally, Boston--he began writing his music on computers.
In 2001, with his first release on Frozen Empire Media, [pareses], and an interview in Industrial Nation Magazine, Pneumatic Detach began to gain more exposure and attract a following within the Industrial scene.
Pneumatic Detach signed with the newly formed and upcoming record label Hive Records in late 2002. With the remix release [pareses] Re:infected, he would be the first official signed artist to Hive Records. After the remix's great success, Hive Records took the profit from that release and re-released [pareses] as a split CD with C2. Both releases sold out in a matter of months.
During the 2001 to 2005 time period Pneumatic detach was invited to play many shows and festivals such as Saturation Bombing in Toronto in 2004; C.O.M.A. 2 and C.O.M.A. 3 in Montreal, Canada; and every Providence Industrial Festival since its creation, from 2001 to 2005. He played with legendary artists, Gridlock and headlined the infamous night club, Slimelight in London. At the same time, he made many remixes for artists such as Scrape.dx, Manufactura, Autoclav 1.1, Terrorfakt, Aesthetic Perfection, and Detritus.
In 2005, Pneumatic Detach's next full length cd, [viscera], was released. It sold out of 500 copies in a few months and was repressed in 2006.
In 2006 Pneumatic Detach and it-clings signed to the labels The Pandemic and Bugs Crawling Out of People for the release of "the all too logical decent into madness" Full length cd with spoken-word artist, it-clings.
