Since Entrez is not the only interface to this database, it would be kind of nice if these links worked a little more like ISBN, i.e. a page of links. Or perhaps if a user preferences option could specify what URL to use when autolinking PMIDs. I prefer http://www.hubmed.org/ for most purposes, plus I would like to link PMIDs to WikiBooks:Errata. --Chinasaur 23:01, 15 Apr 2005 (UTC)

  • Should create {{HMID}} if you want to support linkage to Hubmed as opposed to Pubmed. It wil only create confusion if you were to do a wholesale replacement of PMID templates with HMID; people are familiar with the pubmed interface and would be thunderstruck to find themselves carried somewhere else.
