Plug (horticulture)

In horticulture plugs may be:

  • Small-sized seedlings grown in trays from expanded polystyrene or polythene filled usually with a peat substrate. These kind of plugs are used for commercially raising vegetables and bedding plants.
  • Small sections of lawn grass sod. When planted, the lawn grass will spread and take over adjacent areas.
