Plot

A plot is the course or arrangement of events in a narrative. In a narrative, there are five traditional characteristics of a plot:
1. Conflict: where the antagonist and protagonist are described in the story
2. Exposition (plot device): All the past details leading up to the conflict are revealed
3. Rising action: the events leading to the climax
4. Climax (narrative): the "turning point" for the protagonist
5. Resolution: the resolution of the conflict between the antagonist and protagonist.

Plot also refers to a drawn graphical representation of data, such as a chart, the output of a plotter, or the process of plotting data by hand. Plots are used in
- Mathematics: plotting the graph of a function
- Meteorology: weather plots: isobar, isotherm, isogon, isotach, isohume, isodrosotherm
- CPU design: plots of integrated circuits can resemble die photos.
- All aspects of Computer Aided Design like electrical or mechanical engineering or construction.
A conspiracy is sometimes referred to as a plot.
Plot also describes a small piece of land, such as planted ground in a garden or plots for the deceased in a cemetery.
Plot also means to graph the inclusions in diamonds when grading stones.
Plot was the name of a Danish architectural company.
PLoT is also the name of the University of Tasmania drama club.
