Plod

Plod or P.C.Plod is a British slang term for policeman, typically used to refer to a slow-witted or dull policeman. The term originates from the character Mr. Plod, policeman in the Noddy stories written by Enid Blyton.
Plod also means a 'fruit' in Bulgarian (плод, plod)
PLOD or P.L.O.D. is the abbreviation used for Police Link Officers for Deaf people. Established in 1999, first in Hampshire Constabulary (UK), the Link Officers aim to promote equality of access to the Police for Deaf, Deafblind, deafened and hard of hearing people. Similar schemes are being created in other Police Force areas.
