[edit] History
Pligg, founded by Yankidank [[1]] and headed by lead developer AshDigg, was originally an English translation of Menéame's source code when it was released in early December 2005. Menéame is a Spanish CMS created by Ricardo Galli [[2]] and inspired by Digg. In December 17 2005, the name Pligg was added to differentiate from the Spanish version. Pligg has now expanded from just a translation of one project to a very popular CMS system.
