Pleasant View Christian School is a school in Pleasant View, Tennessee. It is of Free Will Baptist affiliation, and in 2005, it had 349 students from pre-kindergarten to twelfth grade, and had 22 teachers.

[edit] Early history

Pleasant View Christian School was founded in 1978, and held its first classes at Good Springs Free Will Baptist Church in Pleasant View, Tennessee. In 1982, Pleasant View Christian moved to its new location on Hicks Edgen Road. In 1985, the high school wing of the building was added. The original mascot was the Patriots, but it was changed to the Warriors in the mid-1980s.

In 2003, former administrator Wayne Patton left the school. He was replaced by Stephen Parks, M.Ed., until the end of the school year. In 2004, Dr. Kevin Riggs, Ph.D., became Pleasant View Christian School's new administrator. The school has grown significantly during the 2004-2005 school year.

Pleasant View Christian's Warriors athletic teams compete in the Middle Tennessee Christian Athletic Association.

[edit] Newspaper

Pleasant View Christian School maintains a school newspaper, the Voice of the Warrior. The newspaper began as a division of the InDesign and Writing Class in 2005. In early November 2005, the yearbook staff were separated, and the newspaper became an independent class. With 2006, a switch from the classic "Voice of the Warrior" design to a new design based on the London "Guardian" newspaper came about. The newspaper's new name is "thewarrior", The Warrior
