Plavi orkestar (in English: Blue Orchestra) is one of the more popular bands from former Yugoslavia. The band was founded in Sarajevo, Bosnia & Herzegovina in 1983.

Plavi Orkestar is described by one music encyclopedia as one of the "cultural phenomenons of the 1980s and 1990s" (5 million copies sold). The band has remained popular, with 8 albums and more than 1500 concerts worldwide. The band was born in 1983 by Saša Lošić aka Losa who was the lead singer and songwriter of the group.

In the winter of 1984/1985, the band's first album "Soldatski Bal" (Soldier Ball) was recorded. Immediately the band had many hit singles such as "Suada", "Medena Curice" (Pretty Girl), "Odlazi nam Raja" (Our friends are Leaving), "Bolje je biti pijan nego Star" (Better being drunk than old!), "Goodbye Teens", and the title track, "Soldatski Bal". This album deals with all the struggles Losa had whilst working in the military.
