Plate Boundary Observatory PBO
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Plate Boundary Observatory or (PBO) is one of three components of the Earthscope project, along with USARRAY and SAFOD. The goal of PBO is to better-understand the boundary between the North American and Pacific Plates through the use of geodesy. The instrumentation of PBO, which is currently being installed, consists of a portable array of 100 GPS receivers, as well as dense permanent arrays of GPS receivers and strainmeters.
