Plastoquinone, (often abbreviated PQ), is a quinone molecule involved in the electron transport chain in the light-dependent reactions of photosynthesis. Plastoquinone accepts two atoms of hydrogen, becoming plastoquinol. It then transports those atoms to the cytochrome b6/f protein complex.
