A plasma cannon is a fictional weapon found in science fiction movies, video games and literature that fires a plasma, or ionized gas. It typically causes serious burns, and often immediate death, on living creatures.

The most prominent use is in Halo 2, in which the Covenant use them against Marines in the war.

These are featured in the Artemis Fowl book series, with Koboi Laboratory cannons set to kill, whereas the ones in Police Plaza are set to stun.

Also used by T-X in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines.
