"Planet of Sound" is an alternative rock song by the Pixies from their 1991 album Trompe le Monde, the first single to be released from that album.
The typically abstract lyrics follow an alien describing his search for planet Earth (the titular Planet of Sound), with little success.
This song helped name the Channel 4 Teletext Music Service Planet Sound.
The song was covered by California punk band Face to Face on their 2001 cover album "Standards & Practices".
