The Plain Titmouse species (Parus inornatus) was divided into the Oak Titmouse (Baeolophus inornatus) and the Juniper Titmouse (Baeolophus ridgwayi) by the American Ornithologists' Union in 1996. Bird guides published before 1996 will still have the older reference.
