A photograph of Plains, North Lanarkshire taken by jd2207 from an Edinburgh to London jet plane, April 2003. The view looks to the North. Main Street runs across the middle of the shot. A development of new houses from 2004 / 2005 is yet to be built in the north-east corner.

Easter Moffat golf course fills the lower half while the volcanic-like landscape to the top of the image is one of several surrounding open-cast coal mineworks.
