Pittsburgh Classical Academy magnet offers a rigorous academic program focusing on classical history in a structured, caring environment. The PCA is located in the Greenway building with the Pittsburgh Gifted Center. Academic courses include Communications, Computers, Health, Library, Mathematics, Physical Education, Science, Social Studies, and Spanish. Interdisciplinary units are organized around ancient civilizations: Egyptians, Greeks and Romans in grade six, Middle Ages and Renaissance in grade seven and U.S. History in grade eight. The Academy's partnership with the Society for Contemporary Craft focuses on visual arts to enhance student learning. PCA is one of ten middle schools in the Pittsburgh Public Schools.
