Piotr Blass, born in Warsaw, Poland September 13 1948. Educated in Poland ,England ,Austria, USA. In his PhD thesis started at Harvard in 1970 and completed at University Of Michigan in 1977. Created the theory of Zariski surfaces.
In 1987 created the Ulam Quarterly Journal the first refereed electronic journal in the world which played a good role in popularizing the World Wide Web. During the period 1988-1997 starting as a sophisticated ftp anonymous site With dual file distribution namely ps files and ams tex files it adapted to Gopher and Mosaic early browsers and became a fully fledged early website Around 1992-1993 still attracting world wide interest see www.ulam.usm.edu. Includes original work by Grothendieck and by Jacobson and Pal Erdos among others.
Collaborators included the Stanislaw Ulam family, Antoni Zygmund, John Post, Victor Cook, Stan Klasa and Alain Michnik business editor. Served as a model for numerous other journals and typeset in Einstein old Princeton office the ulam quarterly journal was a huge instant success and helped launch the World Wide Web revolution that was independently pioneered By Berners-Lee in CERN.
Piotr Blass is active in Florida and USA politics. He has been a candidate for Florida governor 2006 and for US Senate from Florida 2004. The platform is based on ideas of Einstein and Gandhi.
