The Pinkenba railway station was originally the terminus of the now-closed Pinkenba Railway Line. It was closed in 1993 along with all the stations on the line, although the actual station building is still standing. In 1998 the line re-opened as far as Doomben with a connecting bus servicing the former railway stations between Doomben and Pinkenba.
