Pink hat

Pink hat is a derogatory term for an ignorant female Boston Red Sox fan.

The term is in reference to the pink Sox hats typically worn by female fans who do not actually follow the Sox closely. Although Red Sox Nation does have a healthy contingent of knowledgable girls and women, following the historic 2004 World Series victory the "pink hat faction" became evident at Fenway Park and the bars and streets of greater Boston.
