Pink Spider is a 1998 song by ex-J-rock star hide. It was the last song released by hide before his untimely suicide. There is quite a bit of fan speculation that the song may be something of a covert suicide note for a few reasons. The title of the song itself "Pink Spider" was actually a nickname given to hide by X-Japan drummer Yoshiki. The song's bleak lyrics tell the story of a pink spider who longs, but ultimately fails to fly. There are also some hints that the spider ends up dead at the end of the song. One last suspicious piece of evidence is the music video, which depicts a woman, trapped in a box, the end of the video showing her jumping off of a building.
In 2006, a rock band Rize covered this song.
