Pine Manor College, or PMC, is a private, liberal arts women's college located in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. It was founded in 1911 and serves approximately 500 students, 75% of whom live on the 60-acre campus.

Pine Manor is located on an old estate which used to be a part of Wellesley College. Many of the school's buildings are original to the estate and have been renovated to accommodate the college.

PMC offers 9 majors: Biology, business administration, communications, English, history and culture, liberal studies, psychology, social and political systems, and visual arts. Upon graduation, students receive the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Associate of Arts, or the Associate of Science.

Within each major, students can pick their own concentration from a list of more than 60 options.[2] For example, a student majoring in English can concentrate on creative writing or English education, while a student majoring in visual arts can concentrate on graphic design. According to the Princeton Review, the most popular majors at Pine Manor are business administration, communications, and psychology.[3]

PMC also offers a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing. Students in PMC's low-residency MFA Program may concentrate in fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, or writing for children and young adults.

Pine Manor has been ranked as the most culturally diverse college in the United States for three years by U.S. News & World Report. It is one of the few non-historically black colleges in the nation to have more black students (32%) than white students (25%).[4]

The influential U.S. News & World Report America's Best Colleges guide for 2006 listed Pine Manor as a "least selective" institution in terms of admissions criteria and placed it in the fourth tier of all liberal arts colleges.[5] According to the College Board, 94% of all applicants for the 2005-2006 year were admitted.[6]

Pine Manor alumnae represent 60 countries and all 50 American states.[7] One notable alumna is Pauline Tompkins (Class of 1938), who was the first female president of Cedar Crest College in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
