Wondering how to edit this U.S. County Entry?
The WikiProject U.S. Counties standards might help.

Concerning the city maps for Pima County - some of these places are too new to show up on Mapquest, which is the resource I've been using to verify placement. I've mapped community latitudes and longitudes to the Arizona county map to place the "dots" and in general, they have been correct within a pixel or two without correction. I've used typical correction factors of the places nearby when Mapquest didn't show the community, so they should be right. If not, let me know. Brian Rock 00:10, 30 Jun 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Casas Adobes

Casas Adobes is not an actual town (though I think it briefly did have that status). Should we delete it from the list, or otherwise edit to reflect this? (The Tucson page merely refers to it as a surrounding community, which is not inaccurate.) Janni 20:53, 9 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Pima

When visiting the Heard Museum our Navajo guide and Native American studies student said pima was an O'odham word meaning "I don't understand". Whether this is true or it is like the kangaroo myth I don't know for certain - as this is quite out of the realm of my expertise. However; the O'odham_language article lists pi as some sort of negative prefix as far as I can ascertain, and the fact that when first asked what they were called - in Spanish or English - it seems natural they would have answered "I don't understand."
